Matanzas City is an elegant city located 38 km from Varadero. The capital city of Matanzas´s Province offers a set of colonial and modern buildings and distinctive caves to discover. This tour combines culture and nature perfectly, to satisfy even the most demanding costumer.

Walk the main squares until the Pharmaceutical Museum, one of its kind in the world, where you can journey into the fascinating world of 19th century medicine. Visit the Bellamar Caves, a rare beauty with layers of crystals in the rock formations and Saturn Caves, a natural pool with crystalline waters.

  • Pick up at your accommodation in Varadero area.
  • Drive through local villages until Matanzas City.
  • Walking tour to Liberty Park, Sauto Theater, Calle Medio (City's Boulevard), Vigia Square, San Carlos de Borromeo Cathedral, Junco Palace Provincial Museum, Firefighters House and Museum and many more. Free time for pictures.
  • Visit to the Pharmaceutical Museum in the heart of the city of Matanzas (entrance fee 2USD by person not included in the price of the tour)
  • Lunch break: Typical Cuban food in a restaurant called Paladar where food and drinks are safe (Optional/ Not included in the price of the tour)
  • Visit Bellamar Caves for an hour tour in the caverns and galleries (Entrance fee 5 USD per person /optional 5 USD to bring a camera into the cave).
  • Visit Saturn Caves for swimming time (entrance fee 5USD by person not included in the price of the tour)
  • Return to accommodation.

Recommendations: This tour is not recommended to people with knee surgery, hip replacement surgery or any other motion disability due to the physical effort required visiting the cave. Dress casually with light clothing, sunglasses, hats or caps. Bring solar protection, comfortable closed shoes and bathing suit.

Furthermore all places and services mentioned in the tour are payable with international currency in cash, none of the local restaurants, shops, bars or flea market accept payment in credit card or local currency called Cuban pesos.

Clients can cancel for free with a 48h notification before the tour.
